In Army of Darkness, Ash Williams and Kandarian Demon were sent back to the Middle Ages, and the demonic spirit chased Ash into a windmill where Ash broke a mirror, splitting his reflection into the Tiny Ashes that were brought to life. When one Tiny Ash jumped down Ash's throat, it became Bad Ash, which split off the original Ash, leading to a confrontation where Ash kills his evil counterpart with his boomstick.
